Received the following update from Brent & Sheila Andrews
Happy Holidays from Brent, Sheila, Ashley and Katie Jo
and the Huntington / Fox Fire KOA campground
We have only recently slowed down enough to really enjoy being here.
We've had an extremely great year. Our gross sales were up 20% over the previous owners. We reached our annual sales projections in the first 7 months of operations.
I absolutely love the campground business and everything that goes with it. I have never worked so hard and loved something quite as much as this. 16 hour days, 7 days a week were the norm this summer with alot of learning and alot of work. It certainly is a big change from banking and teaching. I have lost 40 pounds and Sheila has lost almost as much. I am more healthy than I have ever been. Sheila is feeling much better and not nearly under as much pressure. Ashley is settling into Univ of Ky and studying BioMedical Engineering. Katie Jo joined the marching band in August as a Freshman at one of the largest high schools in the state of WV. They won almost every competition they attended. She has already made many friends.
We got the kitchen installed only four weeks after moving making our camper invaluable, the bathroom was finished two weeks prior so we were able to live in the house but cook in the camper. Our basement flooded in June with all of our extra storage boxes, creating two additional moves we had not counted on. I have been working on chinking between the logs on the house this fall. I finished the outside just days before it turned cold and snow showers. We are trying to find an installer to put in a central heat and air conditioning. The two window units won't cut this winter. We've hired work kampers to work on the campground through the winter so we can get away for the holidays and take some vacation time as a family.
Hope everyone in the Wesley family is doing well and Happy Holidays to all.
