Best Question Ever

This morning we watched the first video of a series by Andy Stanley. I took some notes (in the dark :) because as he was talking I realized that I wanted to remember and reflect on what he was saying and I knew I wouldn't remember half of it. These are random points but they may spur your memory. Thought I would share on the blog.

"The Best Question Ever"

Ephesians 5:15
"Be very careful, then, how you live--not as unwise but as wise, making the most of eery opportunity, because the days are evil. "
  • We cannot be careless--not as unwise, but as WISE asking ourselves "Is this the WISE thing for me to do?"
  • The days are evil, we must not follow the current trend.

Ephesians 5:17

"Therefore do not be foolish, but understand what the Lord's will is."

  • Understand the Lord's will and face up to what the will of the Lord is for you--his standard for your life.
  • Ask yourself the question--"Is this the WISE thing for me to do.....in light of my past experiences; in light of the current reality; in light of my future hopes and dreams?
  • Unwise decisions rob us of a portion of our future.
  • Don't rob yourself by fooling yourself.
  • What is it in me that refuses the common sense question?

Memory Verse: Proverbs 28:26--"He who trusts in himself is a fool, but he who walks in wisdom is kept safe."

Closing Question--"In what area of your life do you need wisdom?"
